This antique print was published in the October 28. 1871 issue of Harper's Weekly and shows some devastation from the Chicago Fire.
At the top we see the great conflagration as seen from the prairie which was sketched by John R. Chapin. The middle photos show us the Tribune building. the Palmer House and the Shepard Block on Dearborn Street. The bottom photo shows the burning of the central grain elevators at the mouth of the Chicago River. a sketch by H. Smith.
Condition: Good condition. paper is lightly browned with age. Mounting tape remnants confined to the margins.
