Reading previous reviews and the description page, I knew it didn't come with a shield. So there were no surprises there. Amazon should consider getting a picture of the costume without the shield so people would stop giving it lower ratings because it is not included.This costume fits my 3 year old perfectly. I'd say hes about average size for his age. He's been wearing it on and off every other week since Halloween so I can say it has been a fairly durable costume thus far. I wouldn't leave it out in the sun or anything because it does look like it could fade rather quickly however.One thing I did not like about the costume were the wings on the helmet. This looks like an "older" Captain America--not from the recent movies. The wings are white and more noticble. More annoying is the fact that they flop around and stick on the head backwards. They dont stand up straight or stick to the side of the head the correct way. They look more like "ears" than "wings". I guess safety pins or tape should fix that if you find them more annoying than I did.This costume looks very cute but is not very well made.My son generally wears 3T and it fit him well (this is the 3T-4T size). It actually fit around his body perfectly (so if he were any "wider", it may be a problem) while the legs were extremely long. There was probably a good 3 inches extra. It didn't really matter much though to me.The material is an extremely thin fabric with "muscles" sewn in. My son wore this for about 2 hours and the seams are already starting to rip, though. I guess you get what you pay for.Oh, and as others have mentioned, this does not come with the shield - just the body with build-in muscles (one piece) and the helmet.Great Costume! I feel like the muscle costumes are made better than the superhero costumes without muscles. My son loves wearing this costume. The shield didn't last as long as I would have liked, but it's a Halloween Costume, it's not meant to be played with every day so that's okay. We purchased a different shield that is geared more towards daily play. My biggest complaint is that the mask doesn't seem to fit like it looks in the picture. I tried it on three different 3 and 4 year olds and it fit them all awkwardly. They don't seem to notice or care though so it doesn't really matter!My 2 year old is on the large size (wears 3T shirts) and this fits him perfectly and is strong enough construction that it will last for at least a few costume parties and until it no longer fits him. And the chest and stomach muscles are great, and he seems very comfortable in it.My only complaint is that they show the shield on the packaging but only mention in the fine print on the back that it's not included. Make sure to buy one of those separately.Costume looks so cute on our 3 year old grandson. He wants to wear it all the time! We thought he wouldn't wear the mask, but since he has seen how it looks in the mirror he keeps it on as well. We were concerned about sizing, because he just turned 3 and he is thin built, but the costume fits perfect over his clothes. If you have a good size 4 year old you this costume would be too small, go the next size up. Costume better quality than some that I've seen at the discount stores and the colors are bright as shown in the picture.received the costume in two days and that was with standard shipping! After reading reviews I had it in mind that it came without a shield but when I received it, it did have one! So awesome!! My son is 3, and is on the small side for his age and the 3T-4T size fit him Perfect to the t! My son is 30 lbs and the mask and all couldn't have fit more perfect. He was so excited!! If I could give this costume 10 stars i would!We got it for my nephew on Halloween and he loved it. His mom had a tough time trying to get him out of it once Halloween was over. It's sturdy enough that he might just use it next year, unless he starts getting into other superheroes. Didn't come with the shield, which it clearly states on the description but still, people expect to get the full costume from the same place, and the shield is a huge part of the costume which is lacking.My 3 year old loved it! We did buy the shield and boots separately which definitely completed the look. The costume is very cheaply made though and we had to buy a second one before Halloween because he wore the first out in just a couple of weeks of play.
