This scarce map of Barra and North and South Uist in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland by Joan Blaeu was based on the surveys done by Timothy Pont some half-century earlier.
The map includes Berneray to South Uist and the inset depicts the island chain to Barra Head. Bleau's publication of his atlas of Scotland was accomplished over decades rather than months or years. being delayed by wars. copyright issues and minimal official support. Due to the short period of publication the maps are scarce today.
Condition: Map is in A+ condition with beautiful original color over a dark impression on clean paper with full margins on all sides.
