The portrayal of a wide array of historical figures of the city blends with the masterful depiction of many of its oldest and most important architectural edifices. such as the two oldest buildings in Cambridge. Holy Sepulchre Church and St Bene't's. dating to 1130 and 1000 AD respectively.

All colleges of the University are represented and labeled. and important events and those who participated in them are also rendered in detail. Historical figures such as Chaucer. William Cecil. Lord Byron. William Tyndale are just a few of the illustrious personages whom Lee has chosen to depict. The border of the map is peopled by important personages in the history of Cambridge. the names and dates of founding of its colleges. along with many beautiful and colorful coats of arms.
