A pair of informational booklets of the comprehensive plan for the Central Area Communities of the city of Chicago. dubbed Chicago 21.
These pieces describe at great length the process and necessary functions in order to help revitalize the city core of Chicago since the movement of suburbanization occurring in the years following WWII. Focusing heavily on Chicago's downtown Business District. this plan was seen from many different strategic angles.
At the time of adoption it was heavily controversial. inciting protests from communities that felt they were left out of the city's efforts to revitalize and progress. In particular. the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago. predominately a Latino community. felt as if they were being ignored as many public and housing buildings had fallen into disarray.
Condition: This pair of booklets are in A condition. with only light wear appearing along the bindings of both.
