This map of Oceania by Charles Monin was published in his Atlas of Ancient and Modern Geography in Paris in 1837. The map is highly detailed. and an inset includes the names of all the islands depicted. Two other insets feature regions of Australia in high detail. one of the southwest and the other of the southeast. Australia is featured with geographic and topographic details including river systems. mountains. settlements. cities and ports. The portion of Asia which is depicted has been used to feature additional detail to the map including naming of regional divisions and definitions of abbreviations.
Condition: This map is in B condition. Even toning on heavy paper with some wear of the title and along the centerfold on the recto of the map. Some foxing. Centerfold separations have been reinforced with archival material on the verso.
