An original chromolithograph view of Rome. Italy as it would have appeared in the late 19th century. The view looks down on the city with the Vatican and Castel Sant'Angelo appearing on the west bank of the Tiber River. Piazza Navona and the Pantheon shown in the center and the Colosseum in the distance on the right side of the print.
This view was one of sixteen depictions of international cities that appeared in William Collins's The Complete Atlas. Consisting of One Hundred and Twenty Maps of Modern. Historical. Classical. and Physical Geography. published out of Glasgow in 1878.
Condition: Print is in A condition presenting a vivid image on clean paper with full margins on all sides.
